On Sunday, television stars like Leah Dunham, Tina Fey, January Jones and many more graced the red carpet for the 65th
Annual Emmy Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. From sleek and
chic, to long loose curls, Mure Salon captured some of the most talked-about
hair styles of the night, bringing a part of the L.A Emmy’s to the Upper East
Side, New York!
Homeland’s Claire Danes, may have received an Emmy for
her portrayal as Carrie, but did her red-carpet-do receive equally impressive
recognition? Claire rocked a bob – without even having to cut her hair! The
faux bob can be recreated by pulling your lengthy locks into a ponytail, and
then twisting and bending it underneath. Secure the look with bobby pins,
leaving as many layers up or down. Curl your hair beforehand to give it that
extra oomph. Fans and critics immediately took to Twitter to debate whether or
not Claire pulled off her hair magic. You decide – do you think
she did? Is
this a style that you would wear?
Scandal’s Kerry Washington presented the award for Best Supporting
Actor to Bobby Cannavale for his work on Boadwalk Empire. And although the
moment was all about Bobby Cannavale, we could not help but pay attention to
the way Kerry’s soft, shiny curls complimented her Marchesa dress. Her hair
stylist, Marcus Francis created this relaxed and natural look for the
Best Actress nominee, with the intentions of making it a “memorable one.” Both
he and Kerry aimed for soft elegance mixed with classic simplicity. Do you
think he fully executed the style?
Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara opted for a modern yet timeless look. Aside from her
figure-hugging mermaid gown, coupled with $7 million in Lorraine Schwartz
bling, Sofia’s hair completed this dreamy look. Sofia styled her long,
caramel-highlighted strands in soft, cascading waves down her back. To achieve
this effortless, do-it-yourself hairstyle at home, take a curling iron to
1-inch pieces of your hair parted all around your head, and gently brush them
out with a comb. You can be red-carpet ready in minutes!
Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn not only walked away with an
Emmy for her
incredible work as Skyler White on one of television’s hottest shows, but she
also walked away with Mure’s nomination for best updo of the night. Her blonde, messy chignon undo appeared classic and elegant, and
Emmy-winner appropriate. Although fans and critics of Breaking Bad are not
afraid to voice their hatred for her character on the show, there is no denying
she nailed this look! …And fans are loving Skyler White’s glamorous alter-ego.
Meanwhile, Anna’s other half, TV-husband, Bryan
Cranston “Walter White” was almost unrecognizable at the Emmy’s, making best
hair-comeback of the night! His parted and tousled sandy hair is a far cry from
the shaven and deadly Heisenberg that we all so hate to love.
